In my first Amazon Prime Review, I analyzed the cost vs benefit of the $79 “free shipping” from Amazon. In a nutshell, I spilled my research guts onto the blog for you. See Part 1 of my Is Amazon Prime Worth It series.

Today, I’m sharing my experience with you and I give Amazon Prime 5 stars up. I’ve purchased Brita Water Filter Replacements, compression shorts, books, a headband, toothpaste, soap, and probably some more stuff I can’t remember. Never once did I worry about shipping. All things qualified for Amazon Prime except for the headband which was 55 cents for shipping.

I’ve also watched several movies on Amazon Prime instant movies including the Girl in the Dragon Tattoo series (pretty good btw) and Food Inc. On Amazon Prime instant video, I’m also midway through the first season of X-Files which normally cost $1.99 per episode. Movies are typically $1.99 to $3.99. Of course all movies and TV shows are free on Amazon Prime.

Click here to see the movie and tv selection.

Getting the items in 2 days is great.

Whenever I want to buy something, I check Amazon first and if the prices are lowest, I just the purchase and wait for that brown box in the mail.

Also, once I get a Kindle Fire (I want the second generation Kindle Fire), Amazon Prime membership will allow me to borrow a free ebook every month and some of the ebooks that were Amazon prime eligible that I have purchased have been $9.99.

See how the Amazon Prime Kindle Lending Library works.

So in 2012, after 2 months of the Amazon Prime membership, I think it’s worth it. I will need to make a few more orders to make the price even out but going forward, I see Amazon as a top place to shop and I’ll be utilizing the Prime perks like free tv and movies and free Kindle ebooks heavily.
