The tt Timber Group is involved in forestry, timber processing and distribution. Our core business is focussed on worldwide timber trading. Companies within the Group operate virtually independently, with full responsibility for their own activities in their geographic areas. They have direct contacts with suppliers and customers in "the trade" and in manufacturing. The advantage here is that local management, familiar with local conditions, is responsible for local decisions. This makes for efficiency and a rapid response to market requirements.
Some of the subsidiary companies in North-America, Germany and Eastern Europe have their own installations for the re-manufacturing, grading, kiln-drying and stock-keeping of sawn timber. Sawmills in Germany and Hungary produce European hardwoods, AD and KD in a large variety of dimensions and qualities. The subsidiary companies in Africa are principally concerned with log harvesting, processing, local road and river transportation and facilitating export shipments. |
