DraftStreet.com Review (Must Read Before You Sign Up!) – Is DraftStreet Legit?
First of all, you’re welcome. This DraftStreet Review is going to answer all your questions and also give you real tips and strategy on how to make money playing fantasy basketball (as well as hockey, baseball, golf, and football…sorta) on DraftStreet.com.
Does DraftStreet really pay you? Absolutely yes! I’ve already withdrawn 2 withdrawals of $325 straight to my paypal account (see pic of deposit below).
Is DraftStreet legit? Well that should answer your question but yes, DraftStreet.com is legit. I’ve played on Draft Street now for about 3 weeks and I’ve never have one doubt about their site. They pay promptly. There’s no F’ing around. The software isn’t buggy. The leagues are very transparent and easy to see if you win and what your stats are. 100% legitimate.
I’m sold like a crack fiend, sign me up now so I can get some of the good stuff.
Now that you know DraftStreet.com isn’t a scam, what do I think about the site? I personally love it. Why wouldn’t I? I make a ton of money off it. Right now I’m trying to be one of those guys that makes thousands of dollars. Check out the weekly winnings some of these freaks get (we’re talking $10,000+).
Here's an email I got from DraftStreet.com saying I make too much money. Haha JK but seriously I had to fill out a form bc I made over a certain amount.
Beyond just making money playing fantasy sports, everything is easy to use. The navigation is simple and straightforward. The site design and colors look great. The stats are updated in close to real time (there’s like a minute delay if you’re sitting on the edge of your seat). The games and point settings are easy to understand with no BS.
DraftStreet also has a ton of weekly and daily games so you can get your fix all year round, just about everyday. For example, right now I am hooked on playing fantasy basketball salary cap games. All I do is pick a lineup of 8 (2 guards, 2 forwards, 2 centers, 2 utility) using $100,000 and then save the lineup. I watch the games at night and then check to see if I won money or not.
My favorite game is the double up game. To win money in the double up games, all you have to do is be better than average. So in the double up games, there’s 10 or 20 teams. If your team finishes in the top half of points, you win. That simple. So for example, if you finish 8th of 20, you just make almost double your money.
That brings me to another benefit to playing on DraftStreet.com, the rakes. DraftStreet.com only takes a 9.1% rake. So if I win the $22 double up, I get $40 back as opposed to $44 for 100% payout. Same payout rake goes for $5 ($9 payout) or $11 ($20 payout).
How to Win Money Playing Fantasy Sports
First, you got to sign up at DraftStreet.com before you can make any money in fantasy sports.
Ok so now it’s bonus time. Here are some free but clever and sneaky tips I’ve found out just from experimenting on the fantasy games and reading what the guys on the chatroom say.
First, don’t go in there with guns ablazing if you aren’t sure of your fantasy sports status. What I mean by this is if you don’t know if you’re a shark, then you’re not a shark. There’s nothing wrong with it if you aren’t. You just need to do some research and watch some more games until you start winning 65% of the time or more.
So if you’re a beginner trying to make money in fantasy sports, just take it slow at first and play small games like the DraftStreet free games, the $2 games, and the $5 games. Once you get comfortable and start really making money, work your way up and play in the higher dollar leagues. I’m currently in the $22 level just because I don’t want to risk $55 (admittedly I have done it twice and lost both times).
Second, get good at the more obscure games like NHL and PGA. There’s a ton of money to be made playing fantasy golf and fantasy hockey because less people are good at it (still doesn’t mean they won’t play). Easy money if you know fantasy PGA and fantasy NHL great… very easy money.
Third, when you’re playing the double ups, go for consistency and solid points rather than taking a flyer. In NBA fantasy, James Harden and Chris Bosh aren’t the sexy picks like Derrick Rose or Monta Ellis but they’re a lot less streaky and cost less money. Remember you don’t need to finish first, just above average so why get risky?
Fourth, don’t panic when you lose. I’ve had horrible nights where I just get a big fat doughnut for 7 or 8 games totaling $130+. The worst thing you can do is go try to make it up all in one night. Just be cool about it and understand that you won’t always win, sometimes bad stuff happens. Whether it’s Dwight Howard getting 11 points (his average was 40) or Kevin Love going like 3-16 with 6 turnovers, these things happen from time to time.
Fifth, stay away from the pawn shop. Look, I don’t want to see you on Hardcore Pawn telling Seth your 2004 Dell laptop is worth $500 so you can get your fantasy fix in. Only play with what you can afford to lose. That’s the #1 rule to gambling.
(PS DraftStreet is legal because fantasy sports aren’t considered gambling.)
Sixth, you can make money playing fantasy sports by pouring over stats and trends and staying on top of the latest fantasy news. I can’t tell you how often 30 minutes prior to tipoff, there will be some major fantasy player sitting out and a bench player (with a cheap salary) getting time to shine. If the bench player is good, he can really pay off for you. Get real close to the teams. I actually stalk their local news sites and stalker fan forums to get a huge information advantage on my competition and get a close feel for the teams without actually watching them (it’s impossible to watch everyone… though you can almost become a professional scout with NBA League Pass).
This is my last withdrawal on Paypal from DraftStreet.com. You can also get a check sent if you don't have Paypal.
Last, sign up and max out your deposit when you sign up from this DraftStreet bonus link. Basically, DraftStreet will match up to 40% of your deposit all the way up to $150. I maxed this puppy out ($150 deposit) when I signed up because it’s basically free money.
Fantasy Sports, Making Money, and Watching Sports – is that not beautiful? Sorry, I got to go get a tissue. I always tear up when I start thinking of my fat bank account I got from becoming a professional lazyass.
My fantasy basketball sleepers for 2011-2012 were so-so but if you want to sign up to receive fantasy sports updates on strategy and how I’m making money, sign up for my monthly email below. I’ll send out my newsletter about once a month or whenever I think I got something worth telling you about (new sites, strategy that’s working, best place to get stats, any completely fish games I find, etc.)
